WHAT IS THE
PARALLEL TO OUR SPIRITUAL CALLING?
WAS GOD THE
FATHER INVOLVED WITH THE ISRAELITES WHEN THEY CAME
OUT OF EGYPT?
WHO GAVE THE
TEN
COMMANDMENTS?
GOD THE WORD {CHRIST} or GOD THE FATHER?
WHAT DOES THE
PHYSICAL EXODUS TYPIFY IN OUR SPIRITUAL LIVES?
The Passover
is a physical counterpart of a spiritual event.
The coming out
of Egypt
is a physical counterpart of our spiritual calling
out of this world.
It is God the
Father who calls us.
Joh
6:44 No one
can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws
him; and I will raise him up
at the last day.
Joh
17:6 "I
have manifested Your name to the men whom You have
given Me out of the world.
They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they
have kept Your word.
Joh
17:9 "I
pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for
those whom You have given
Me, for they are Yours.
The Father calls
us and at baptism we are baptised into Christ and His
death.
Rom
6:3 Or
do you not know that as many of
us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized
into His death?
It was Jesus
Christ who went with the Israelites in the wilderness.
1Co 10:1 Moreover,
brethren, I do not want you to be
unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud,
all passed through the sea,
1Co
10:2 all
were baptized into Moses in the
cloud and in the sea,
1Co
10:3 all
ate the same spiritual food,
1Co
10:4 and
all drank the same spiritual
drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that
followed them, and that Rock
was Christ.
Before we proceed
any further it is vitally important to learn what
Hebrew words denote God the
Father and what words denote the Word or Christ.
H430 Elohiym can
refer to God the Father or Christ or both.
H3068 Yehovah, Jehovah, Yhovah or Yhvh can refer to
the Father only.
It was the Father
who brought the Israelites out of Egypt
and gave the Ten Commandments.
This is
new knowledge for us, we have
always thought it was Jesus Christ.
Exo 20:1 And God
spoke all these words, saying:
Exo
20:2 "I
am the LORD your God, who brought
you out of the land of Egypt, out
of the house of bondage.
Exo
20:3 "You
shall have no other gods
before Me.
Christ always put
the Father above himself.
There were two
Gods on the mountain when the Ten Commandments were
given. The
following scripture is referring to Jesus
Christ because the elders saw Him, and they ate and
drank with Him.
Exo
24:9 Then
Moses went up, also Aaron,
Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of
Israel,
Exo
24:10 and
they saw the God of Israel.
And there
was under His feet as
it were a paved work of sapphire stone, and it was
like the very heavens in its
clarity.
Exo
24:11 But
on the nobles of the children
of Israel
He did not lay His hand. So they saw God, and they
ate and drank.
Compare verse 11
with
Ex 33 v 20. No
man can see the Father
and live.
Exo
33:20 But
He said, "You cannot see
My face; for no man shall see Me, and live."
In these above
verses we see some interesting facts, Ex 24 states
that Moses Aaron, Nadab and
Abihu and the seventy elders saw God.
You cannot look
on God the Father and live so let’s see the
explanation:
Exo 24:1 Now He
said to Moses, "Come up to the
LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of
the elders of Israel,
and worship from afar.
Exo
24:2 And
Moses alone shall come near the
LORD, but they shall not come near; nor shall the
people go up with him."
Exo
24:3 So
Moses came and told the people
all the words of the LORD and all the judgments. And
all the people answered
with one voice and said, "All the words which the
LORD has said we will
do."
Here we see God
the Father told Moses he alone could come near the
Lord, but the others were
permitted only to worship afar off.
Now how did Moses
look on God the Father and not die? We
see plainly by the following scriptures that God the
Father spoke through a
cloud or fire.
Exo
33:9 And
it came to pass, when Moses
entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud
descended and stood at the
door of the tabernacle, and the LORD
talked with Moses.
Psa
99:6 Moses
and Aaron were among His
priests, And Samuel was among those who called upon
His name; They called upon
the LORD, and He answered them.
Psa
99:7 He
spoke to them in the cloudy
pillar; They kept His testimonies and the ordinance
He gave them.
These scriptures
make it plain that Moses could speak to God the Father
through a cloud or fire
and not be harmed, this is the way God the Father
chose to speak to him. It
caused no trouble to Moses as he was able to speak to
him as a friend, this
following scripture face to face can also be
explained:
Exo
33:11 So
the LORD spoke to Moses face to
face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would
return to the camp, but his
servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not
depart from the tabernacle.
The following
scripture explains the above:
Deu
5:4 The
LORD talked with you face to
face on the mountain from the midst of the fire.
The God who gave
the Ten Commandments said He would not go up in the
midst of the Israelites.
Exo 33:1 Then the
LORD said to Moses, "Depart and go
up from here, you and the
people whom you have brought out of the land of
Egypt, to the land of which I
swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, 'To your
descendants I will give
it.'
Exo
33:2 And
I will send My Angel
before you, and I will drive
out the Canaanite and the Amorite and the Hittite
and the Perizzite and the
Hivite and the Jebusite.
Exo
33:3 Go
up to a land flowing with milk
and honey; for I will not go up in your midst, lest
I consume you on the way, for
you are
a stiff-necked
people."
Exo
33:14 And
He said, "My Presence
will go with
you, and I will
give you rest."
Exo
23:20 "Behold,
I send an Angel
before you to keep you in the way and to bring you
into the place which I have
prepared.
Exo
23:21 Beware
of Him and obey His voice;
do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your
transgressions; for My name is in
Him.
Isa
63:9 In
all their affliction He was
afflicted, And the Angel of His Presence saved them;
In His love and in His
pity He redeemed them; And He bore them and carried
them All the days of old.
It was stated
earlier that Christ went before the Israelites 1 Cor.
10 v 4 so the Presence,
or Angel stated in the above scriptures was indeed
Christ, remember the Hebrew
word for Angel can mean messenger.
This knowledge
now being understood, we can plainly see that it was
God the Father who said He
would not go up in the midst of the Israelites.
The analogy of
coming out of Egypt
is the perfect counterpart of our being called out of
this world.
The Passover must
be kept at the correct time and the above truths must
be acknowledged.
2Ti
2:25 in
humility correcting those who
are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them
repentance, so that they may
know the truth,
This knowledge
will then lead into the true meaning of the Wave Sheaf
of Lev 23 {which is
discussed in an earlier article at this site} and also
the true meaning of John
17 v 3.
Joh
17:3 And
this is eternal life, that
they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus
Christ whom You have sent.
And
Mat 16:15 He said to
them, "But who do you say
that I am?"
Mat
16:16 Simon
Peter answered and said,
"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Mat
16:17 Jesus
answered and said to him, "Blessed
are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood
has not revealed this
to you,
but My Father who is in heaven.
Mat
16:18 And I
also say to you that you are Peter, and on this
rock I will build My church,
and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against
it.
God’s church is
built on the foundation of verse 16.
