THE SABBATH

The Sabbath is the 7th day of the week, it is Saturday. It starts Friday evening at sunset, and ends Saturday evening at sunset. It is a time to be spent with God in prayer, study, meditation, and fellowship. It is profitable to spend this time with family, enjoy a nice meal, but God must be foremost in our thoughts and actions.

God gave us this time to recharge our spiritual batteries, and to allow us to rest from our normal labours. The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

Exo 20:10  but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.

Act 15:21  For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

Act 18:4  And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks.
