CONVERSION

To be converted is to have an understanding heart, ears that hear, and eyes that see. It is a genuine desire to love, obey, and believe God. Conversion is putting sin out of our lives.

Our lives are changed, we have a new direction, a new desire towards God. We want to live our lives as Christ did. We want to be obedient servants to our loving Father.

To reach conversion is a life long process one that takes a great deal of effort and strength. We must press on, we have a spiritual battle ahead of us, but with God’s help we can overcome ourselves, and the forces against us.

The first stage of conversion is to receive the first phase of God’s Holy Spirit. It is the earnest of the Spirit. Later, when we accept, believe, and love the knowledge of the truth, and when God decides, we receive the second phase of God’s Holy Spirit which is the Holy Spirit of power or truth.

Isa 6:10  “Make the heart of this people dull, And their ears heavy, And shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And return and be healed.”

Col 3:9  Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,

Mat 18:3  and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

As the following scripture shows, to be converted means that we must have God’s Holy Spirit of power. When Christ spoke these words to the disciples they already had the earnest of the Spirit.

Luk 22:32  But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
