WHAT HAPPENS TO THE CHURCH
As we have
shown in previous
articles, we know what happens to Israel during
the time of Jacob’s trouble and
the Day of the Lord. But what about the church?
What happens to God’s people in
the end time? One of the
things to happen
will be members being put out of the church. Isa 66:5 Hear
the word of the LORD, You who tremble at
His word: “Your brethren who hated you, Who cast
you out for My name’s sake,
said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, That we may
see your joy.’ But they shall be
ashamed.” During the
time of Jacob’s
trouble, some in the church enjoy God’s protection
from the four judgments.
Just as Israel were protected during the time in
Egypt when God sent His
plagues on Egypt, so some of the church will be
protected during the time of
Jacob’s trouble. The judgments will not come on
them, just as the plagues did
not come on Israel when Egypt had the plagues on
them. Psalm 91
clearly shows that
some in the church will be protected by God the
Father, during the four
judgments of Jacob’s Trouble. Psa 91:4 He
shall cover you with His feathers, And
under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth
shall be your shield and
buckler. Psa 91:5 You
shall not be afraid of the terror by
night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Psa 91:6 Nor of
the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at
noonday. Psa 91:7 A
thousand may fall at your side, And ten
thousand at your right hand; But it shall not
come near you. Psa 91:8 Only
with your eyes shall you look, And see the
reward of the wicked. Notice also
the following. Rev 12:6 Then
the woman fled into the wilderness,
where she has a place prepared by God, that they
should feed her there one
thousand two hundred and sixty days. As shown in
another article
on Jacob, the scriptures indicate that the
captivity lasts between 2 to 3
years. The
following scriptures show
that the church is close to Israel during the time
of the captivity, the church
is able to help them, feed them and give them
water. They must be near them to
do this. Whilst the
Israelites are in
captivity, God expects that His end time church
will feed them and care for
them, physically and spiritually. Notice these
following
scriptures which show that the church should have
looked after Israel. Eze 34:2 “Son
of man, prophesy against the shepherds
of Israel, prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says
the Lord GOD to the shepherds:
“Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed
themselves! Should not the shepherds
feed the flocks? The
following Israelites have
been through Jacob’s trouble, they desperately
need the church to help them.
The church has not sought after Israel. Eze 34:4 The
weak you have not strengthened, nor have
you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the
broken, nor brought back what
was driven away, nor sought what was lost; but
with force and cruelty you have
ruled them. The church
was only
interested in feeding itself, they did not care
about Israel, or members who
have left or been put out. Eze 34:8 “As I
live,” says the Lord GOD, “surely
because My flock became a prey, and My flock
became food for every beast of the
field, because there was no shepherd, nor did My
shepherds search for My flock,
but the shepherds fed themselves and did not
feed My flock” Because the
church will not
go after Israel or members who have left or been
put out, and try to find them
and help them, God the Father has to do it
Himself. Eze 34:11 ‘For
thus says the Lord GOD: “Indeed I Myself
will search for My sheep and seek them out. God provides
both physical
and spiritual food and drink for His church, but
they do not pass on these
things to Israel or other members. Eze 34:18 Is it
too little for you to have eaten up the
good pasture, that you must tread down with your
feet the residue of your
pasture and to have drunk of the clear waters,
that you must foul the residue
with your feet? The church
did not care about
giving Israel or the lost members, the best of the
food and water, they took
that for themselves. Eze 34:19 And as
for My flock, they eat what you have
trampled with your feet, and they drink what you
have fouled with your feet.” David, is
God’s trusted
servant, and he will feed them. Both David and the
Father rescue Israel from
captivity. Eze 34:23 I will
establish one shepherd over them, and
he shall feed them My servant David. He shall
feed them and be their shepherd. Once Israel
have been through
the captivity, their heart is changed to God. Eze 34:30 Thus
they shall know that I, the LORD their
God, am with them, and they, the house of
Israel, are My people,” says the Lord
GOD.’ ” During the
captivity, God is
less than happy with the church, since they did
not care about Israel. As we have
already seen in
other articles, the Father and David rescue Israel
and bring them back to the
Jerusalem area. PLEASE NOTE
WE ARE NOT TRYING
TO SET DATES, WE ARE SIMPLY QUOTING SCRIPTURE
ON THIS POINT We are told
by scripture how
long the church will be persecuted and martyred.
There is a period of 6 years 4
months and 20 days. The counting of this period of
time starts after, the
temple is built, after the Father enters the
temple and then leaves the temple
in the authority of the church members. After the
little horn comes on to the
scene. The counting
of the time
mentioned above, starts when the little horn
thinks to change times and laws,
and culminates with the abomination of desolation
being set up in the temple. Slowly the
little horn will come
in by flatteries, and start to change times and
laws, this happens for the
first period of approximately 3 years. Then the
martyrdom and persecution will
begin for the remaining 3 ½ years. Dan 7:25 He
shall speak pompous words against the Most
High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most
High, And shall intend to change
times and law. Then the saints shall be given
into his hand For a time and
times and half a time. The little
horn is on the
scene. The sanctuary is a place inside the temple. Dan 8:11 He
even exalted himself as high as the Prince
of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices
were taken away, and the place of
His sanctuary was cast down. The little
horn is powerful,
the truth is cast down, and the little horn
prospers. Dan 8:12 Because
of transgression, an army was given
over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices;
and he cast truth down to the
ground. He did all this and prospered. From the
time when the
physical little horn comes onto the scene and
begins to change times and laws,
until the abomination of desolation is set up, is
the period of 6 years 4
months and 20 days. Dan 8:13 Then I
heard a holy one speaking; and another
holy one said to that certain one who was
speaking, “How long will the vision
be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the
transgression of desolation, the
giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be
trampled underfoot?” The gradual
process, which
culminates in the martyrdom of saints takes 6
years 4 months and 20 days. Then
the sanctuary is cleansed. Dan 8:14 And he
said to me, “For two thousand three
hundred days; then the sanctuary shall be
cleansed.” Let’s look
at how these
events unfold. On return
from captivity
repentant Israel build the temple and the church
takes over the running of the
temple. Eze 43:10 “Son
of man, describe the temple to the house
of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their
iniquities; and let them measure
the pattern. Eze 43:11 And if
they are ashamed of all that they have
done, make known to them the design of the
temple and its arrangement, its
exits and its entrances, its entire design and
all its ordinances, all its
forms and all its laws. Write it down in their
sight, so that they may keep its
whole design and all its ordinances, and perform
them. Eze 44:15 “But
the priests, the Levites, the sons of
Zadok, who kept charge of My sanctuary when the
children of Israel went astray
from Me, they shall come near Me to minister to
Me; and they shall stand before
Me to offer to Me the fat and the blood,” says
the Lord GOD. Sometime
after the temple is
built, some of the church members are deceived and
have intelligence with the
beast. Dan 11:30 For
ships from Cyprus shall come against him;
therefore he shall be grieved, and return in
rage against the holy covenant,
and do damage. “So he shall return and show
regard for those who forsake the
holy covenant. This leads
to the temple
being defiled. Psa 79:1 A
Psalm of Asaph. O God, the nations have
come into Your inheritance; Your holy temple
they have defiled; They have laid
Jerusalem in heaps. Isa 63:18 Your
holy people have possessed it but a
little while; Our adversaries have trodden down
Your sanctuary. Eze 5:11 ‘Therefore,
as I live,’ says the Lord GOD,
‘surely, because you have defiled My sanctuary
with all your detestable things
and with all your abominations, therefore I will
also diminish you; My eye will
not spare, nor will I have any pity. The
following scripture shows
that the group which forsake the covenant, is then
corrupted by flatteries.
These people are church people who do not believe
the truth and do not have the
love of the truth. Dan 11:32 Those
who do wickedly against the covenant he
shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who
know their God shall be strong,
and carry out great exploits. Eze 44:7 When
you brought in foreigners, uncircumcised
in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in My
sanctuary to defile it My
house and when you offered My food, the fat and
the blood, then they broke My
covenant because of all your abominations. 2Th 2:10 and
with all unrighteous deception among
those who perish, because they did not receive
the love of the truth, that they
might be saved. 2Th 2:11 And
for this reason God will send them strong
delusion, that they should believe the lie, 2Th 2:12 that
they all may be condemned who did not
believe the truth but had pleasure in
unrighteousness. 2Th 2:3 Let no
one deceive you by any means; for that
Day will not come unless the falling away comes
first, and the man of sin is
revealed, the son of perdition, 2Th 2:4 who
opposes and exalts himself above all that
is called God or that is worshiped, so that he
sits as God in the temple of
God, showing himself that he is God. In Daniel 11
v 32 is a clear
difference between two groups of people in God’s
church at the end time. The
1st group, does not believe the truth and is
bought off and easily swayed into
harlotry by the little horn, he deceives them with
flatteries. They forsake the
holy covenant. The 2nd
group are the people
who love the truth, they know their God and are
strong and do exploits. We must have
this attitude
towards God’s word, shown in this next scripture. Jer 15:16 Your
words were found, and I ate them, And
Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my
heart; For I am called by Your
name, O LORD God of hosts. When the
martyrdom starts,
Israel is in the Jerusalem area, they have
returned from captivity, this is
before they go to the valley of Achor. Eze 34:13 And I
will bring them out from the peoples
and gather them from the countries, and will
bring them to their own land; I
will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in
the valleys and in all the
inhabited places of the country. Eze 34:14 I will
feed them in good pasture, and their
fold shall be on the high mountains of Israel.
There they shall lie down in a
good fold and feed in rich pasture on the
mountains of Israel. Eze 34:25 “I
will make a covenant of peace with them,
and cause wild beasts to cease from the land;
and they will dwell safely in the
wilderness and sleep in the woods. Eze 34:26 I will
make them and the places all around My
hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to
come down in their season; there
shall be showers of blessing. Back to the
church, Jerusalem
is trampled underfoot for 3 ½ years. Rev 11:2 But
leave out the court which is outside the
temple, and do not measure it, for it has been
given to the Gentiles. And they
will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two
months. The saints
are given into the
hand of the little horn for 3 ½ years. Dan 7:25 He
shall speak pompous words against the Most
High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most
High, And shall intend to change
times and law. Then the saints shall be given
into his hand For a time and
times and half a time. During this
time the
martyrdom of saints will occur. Mat 24:9 “Then they will
deliver you up to tribulation and kill you,
and you will be hated by all
nations for My name’s sake. Mat 24:10 And then many will be
offended, will betray one another, and will
hate one another. Mat 23:34 Therefore, indeed, I
send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some
of them you will kill and
crucify, and some of them you will scourge in
your synagogues and persecute
from city to city, Mat 10:17 But beware of men,
for they will deliver you up to councils and
scourge you in their synagogues. Mat 10:18 You will be brought
before governors and kings for My sake, as a
testimony to them and to the
Gentiles. Mat 10:21 “Now brother will
deliver up brother to death, and a father his
child; and children will rise up
against parents and cause them to be put to
death. Mat 10:22 And you will be hated
by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures
to the end will be saved. Rev 12:17 And
the dragon was enraged with the woman,
and he went to make war with the rest of her
offspring, who keep the
commandments of God and have the testimony of
Jesus Christ. The
martyrdom and persecution
is at the hands of the physical beast up until he
is killed and the devil beast
takes over. Dan 7:21 “I was
watching; and the same horn was making
war against the saints, and prevailing against
them, The
following verse is about
the firstfruits, because they are the saints of
the Most High. Dan 7:22 until
the Ancient of Days came, and a
judgment was made in favor of the saints of the
Most High, and the time came
for the saints to possess the kingdom. When the
Father returns, He
comes to the Mount of Olives, this splits in two
and the Israelites flee
through the valley into the Valley of Achor. Where
they are protected during
the day of the Lord. Then the
Father destroys the
physical beast with the nation of the Medes. {Descendants
of Japeth, and
therefore will be Asian.} Isa 13:1 The
burden against Babylon which Isaiah the
son of Amoz saw. Isa 13:17 “Behold,
I will stir up the Medes against
them, Who will not regard silver; And as for
gold, they will not delight in it. Dan 7:11 “I
watched then because of the sound of the
pompous words which the horn was speaking; I
watched till the beast was slain,
and its body destroyed and given to the burning
flame. Probably
immediately after
the physical beast is killed; a demon posing as
the physical beast comes up
starting a frenzy amongst people that he is alive
again, however he is not
alive again, this is in fact a demon. This is the
deadly wound which was
healed. Rev 13:3 And I
saw one of his heads as if it had been
mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was
healed. And all the world marveled
and followed the beast. Rev 13:12 And he
exercises all the authority of the
first beast in his presence, and causes the
earth and those who dwell in it to
worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was
healed. Here we see
some of the
church members who die. Dan 11:33 And
those of the people who understand shall
instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall
by sword and flame, by
captivity and plundering. During this
time people
cleave to them with flatteries. Dan 11:34 Now
when they fall, they shall be aided with
a little help; but many shall join with them by
intrigue. Some of
those who are to die
at this time, must die to try and purge them and
make them white, so we see it
is for their ultimate salvation. Also notice that
the martyrdom will continue
till the time of the end, so this means until the
return of Christ. Dan 11:35 And
some of those of understanding shall
fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them
white, until the time of the
end; because it is still for the appointed time. As we
realise the parable of
the virgins, refers to the church. Notice that
half the virgins are not known
by God, we must be very diligent with our calling
and be careful not to be
deceived. We must know God and then He will know
us. If we allow our spiritual
life to die out, we will loose the Holy Spirit
which was given to us at our
baptism, that is why God does not know these
virgins, they lost the Holy Spirit
through lack of prayer, Bible study, obedience,
and belief in God. Mat 25:10 And while they went
to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who
were ready went in with him to the
wedding; and the door was shut. Mat 25:11 “Afterward the other
virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open
to us!’ Mat 25:12 But he answered and
said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know
you.’ People for
the little horn
came in with flatteries and deceived members of
the church, and set up the
abomination of desolation. Dan 11:31 And
forces shall be mustered by him, and they
shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they
shall take away the daily
sacrifices, and place there the abomination of
desolation. Some people
remain faithful,
those who know their God. Dan 11:32 Those
who do wickedly against the covenant he
shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who
know their God shall be strong,
and carry out great exploits. Once the
abomination of
desolation is set up in the temple, the Israelites
flee to the Valley of Achor,
the Father returns with the saints and the Day of
the Lord is very close
indeed. If church
members are close to
God they may be protected during the martyrdom. Luk 21:36 Watch therefore, and
pray always that you may be counted worthy to
escape all these things that will
come to pass, and to stand before the Son of
Man.” Psa 17:7 Show
Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your
right hand, O You who save those who trust in
You From those who rise up
against them. Psa 17:8 Keep
me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me
under the shadow of Your wings, Psa 17:9 From
the wicked who oppress me, From my
deadly enemies who surround me. Zep 2:3 Seek
the LORD, all you meek of the earth, Who
have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness,
seek humility. It may be that you
will be hidden In the day of the LORD’s anger. We know that
Satan will be
active in the last days, as he knows that he has
only a little time, and the
church will be his prime target. It is going to be
easy to be deceived, so we
must be on our guard and stay close to God. Let’s notice
the parable of
the wedding. This parable is for the end time
church. Mat 22:2 “The kingdom of
heaven is like a certain king who arranged a
marriage for his son, God has had
servants over
many years who have been leaders in the churches,
they have shown people the
truth, but many have simply ignored their calling. Mat 22:3 and sent out his
servants to call those who were invited to the
wedding; and they were not
willing to come. Now we see
different
servants, so time has marched on, now it is closer
to the wedding, and all is
ready, the call is more urgent. Mat 22:4 Again, he sent out
other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are
invited, “See, I have prepared my
dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed,
and all things are ready. Come to
the wedding.” ’ The people
were just too busy
to be bothered, they had other things, which were
of more importance to them,
than God’s calling. Mat 22:5 But they made light
of it and went their ways, one to his own
farm, another to his business. Notice the
following,
concerning the remnant, we know that Satan makes
war with the remnant of the
church, the remnant are the ones who are left
round about the time of the Day
of the Lord. Notice that
some church
members kill the servants of God, the leaders, and
teachers, and members who
are faithful to God. Mat 22:6 And the rest seized
his servants, treated them spitefully, and
killed them. Luk 12:45 But if that servant
says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his
coming,’ and begins to beat the
male and female servants, and to eat and drink
and be drunk, Joh 16:2 They will put you out
of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming
that whoever kills you will think
that he offers God service. Joh 16:3 And these things they
will do to you because they have not known the
Father nor Me. During the
Day of the Lord,
the Father will destroy these false members of the
end time church, using
armies to do it. God’s
faithful servants are
marked out and protected from this destruction. Mat 22:7 But when the king
heard about it, he was furious. And he sent
out his armies, destroyed those
murderers, and burned up their city. Eze 9:2 And
suddenly six men came from the direction
of the upper gate, which faces north, each with
his battle-ax in his hand. One
man among them was clothed with linen and had a
writer’s inkhorn at his side.
They went in and stood beside the bronze altar. Eze 9:3 Now
the glory of the God of Israel had gone
up from the cherub, where it had been, to the
threshold of the temple. And He
called to the man clothed with linen, who had
the writer’s inkhorn at his side; Eze 9:4 and
the LORD said to him, “Go through the
midst of the city, through the midst of
Jerusalem, and put a mark on the
foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all
the abominations that are done
within it.” Eze 9:5 To the
others He said in my hearing, “Go
after him through the city and kill; do not let
your eye spare, nor have any
pity. Eze 9:6 Utterly
slay old and young men, maidens and
little children and women; but do not come near
anyone on whom is the mark; and
begin at My sanctuary.” So they began with the
elders who were before the
temple. The Father
tells the servants
of God {the end time leaders of the Church who are
faithful} that the called
ones were not worthy. This is talking about church
members NOW who through
laziness and unbelief, turn their back on God’s
calling, this is the end time
church who will not believe the end time knowledge
and truths put out by the
end time church. Mat 22:8 Then he said to his
servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who
were invited were not worthy. The Father
says to the
servants to go out to the highways and bid as many
as you can find to the
wedding. These are not church members, these are
possibly repentant Israel,
after their return from captivity, who openly
declare their love for God and
who are totally committed to Him now……they do not
depart from the truth. The
church members are out, and just everyday people
are in. These guests could
possibly be children of church members. Mat 22:9 Therefore go into the
highways, and as many as you find, invite to
the wedding.’ The servants
go out and
gather the wedding guests, now they are good and
bad, the Israelites, would
have been good and bad people, but they have
repented, and that is the attitude
God wants. These people are far and away better
than the church members who do
not believe Him. Remember also that Israel have
been given the earnest of God’s
Holy Spirit. Mat 22:10 So those servants
went out into the highways and gathered
together all whom they found, both bad
and good. And the wedding hall was filled with
guests. The
following verse is about
the repentant Israelites. Jer 31:33 But
this is the covenant that I will make
with the house of Israel after those days, says
the LORD: I will put My law in
their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I
will be their God, and they
shall be My people. Joe 2:29 And
also on My menservants and on My
maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those
days. There was a
man there without
a wedding garment, this is the righteous acts of
the saints. Mat 22:11 “But when the king
came in to see the guests, he saw a man there
who did not have on a wedding
garment. The garment
is the righteous
acts of the saints. Rev 19:8 And to
her it was granted to be arrayed in
fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen
is the righteous acts of the
saints. This next
verse is shocking
and must be a wakeup call for all of us in God’s
church, here we see one of the
evil sons of God trying to get in to the wedding,
but Christ told him
otherwise…… {We know it was an evil son of God for
two reasons. 1. Christ
called him friend which means kinsman, and 2. He
was thrown into the lake of
fire}. Mat 22:12 So he said to him,
‘Friend, how did you come in here without a
wedding garment?’ And he was
speechless. Mat 22:13 Then the king said to
the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take
him away, and cast him into outer
darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing
of teeth.’ The
following verse is
referring to the evil sons of God. Mat 8:12 But the sons of the
kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness.
There will be weeping and
gnashing of teeth.” Mat 25:30 And cast the
unprofitable servant into the outer darkness.
There will be weeping and
gnashing of teeth.’ Luk 13:28 There will be weeping
and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham
and Isaac and Jacob and all the
prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves
thrust out. Many are
called, and as the
end approaches, we will see that only few indeed
are chosen, this is a sad
picture for people who have God’s Holy Spirit.
Once we have the Holy Spirit of
power we must prove to be faithful. Let’s wake
up as we see the
day approaching, let’s get serious about our
calling and strive with our whole
heart to be not only chosen but faithful children
of God. Mat 22:14 “For many are called,
but few are chosen.”
