THE ONE TRUE GOD

WHO IS THE ONE TRUE GOD?

DOES ONE GOD MEAN CHRIST AND THE FATHER?

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A TRUE GOD?

HOW CAN WE BE IN GOD’S FAMILY IF WE DO NOT KNOW HIS TRUE IDENTITY?

It has become apparent that there is very little understanding about who is the one true God.

Many think it is Christ. Some think it is both Christ and the Father.

Many have very little knowledge about the Father.

We must have a firm understanding of the Father and Christ.

If the reader wants to learn new knowledge it must be made clear, that many things which have been held dear by the reader, will need to be looked at, studied and examined under the clear light of Bible truth.

Do we want new knowledge, understanding and truth, or do we simply want to cling to what we think is right regardless?

Let’s honestly ask ourselves these questions and if indeed we are seeking the truth, then let us press on and be taught some essential facts of eternal life by God, let us search the scriptures with an enquiring mind and a pure heart, let us be teachable from the word of God.

WHO IS THE ONE TRUE GOD?

The scripture says there is one true God. We should all know that there are two Gods. God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ.

We know that the Father was well pleased with the Son, and that Christ sits on the right hand of the Father.

So why then, if the Father is pleased with the Son, and Christ is God, why is there only one True God?

This is quite a puzzle for some readers. Make no mistake there is only One True God, so how is this explained?

What this means is that there is only one God who has always existed. It has always been my understanding that Christ and God the Father have always existed, side by side for all eternity. This was an incorrect assumption on my part.

The scriptures do not state this or back up this theory. The scriptures state most clearly that only one God has inhabited eternity. Therefore, there is only one true God, God the Father.

Let’s look at the scriptures on the subject of one true God.

2Ch 15:3  For a long time Israel has been without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law;

Jer 10:10  But the LORD is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, And the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.

Notice in the above scripture that it says His wrath and His indignation, the singular is used, there is one true God.

It is so important that we understand about God the Father and Jesus Christ that eternal life hinges on it for this era of God’s church, look at the following scripture.

THE ONE TRUE GOD IS THE FATHER. Notice the following plain and simple truth.

Joh 17:3  And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

This scripture makes it so plain, there is no room for doubt or argument or any misunderstanding of scripture, this is plain and simple truth. Read it again, look at what it says, we must know the one true God and Jesus Christ. It does not say that Christ is a true God, it says that there is only one True God, this is the Father. We must know this, we must understand about the Father and who is Jesus Christ also, this is eternal life that we might know the Father and Christ. Start learning, listening, growing, get out your Bibles, this is God’s new knowledge, we must pay attention.

1Th 1:9  For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,

1Th 1:10  and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

Again this scripture states clearly that the one True God is God the Father, the early New Testament church, knew who the Father and Christ actually were. It is vitally important that we know also.

1Jn 5:20  And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

The New Testament church was given the understanding of who the one True God is, by Jesus Christ. Christ gave them the understanding so that they might know and understand about the Father that the Father is the one true God.

Look at the following amazing knowledge.

Exo 6:2  And God spoke to Moses and said to him: “I am the LORD.

Exo 6:3  I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name JEHOVAH I was not known to them.

Abraham Isaac and Jacob, did not know the Father as Jehovah. It was when God the Father entered into a relationship with the nation of Israel that His name, Jehovah was known to them, and of course Moses.

This knowledge is very important to us today, even though Abraham was so very close to God, he was not given the knowledge of the one true God. This was because that knowledge was not needed by him at that time.

Moses was given that knowledge because he had to tell the nation of Israel the knowledge of the one true God.

Today is very similar, Mr. Armstrong was not given the knowledge of the one true God. The end time church of God has been given this knowledge. This knowledge of the one True God is restored to the end time era of God’s church.

Luk 24:27  And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

Christ began at Moses, when He was expounding the scriptures to the disciples.

Somewhere along the way the knowledge of the one true God was lost, where did this happen.

The message to the first era of God’s church had this message.

Rev 2:4  Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.

Here we see that the first era of God’s church had lost their first love. This first love is the love of the Father.

DOES ONE GOD MEAN CHRIST AND THE FATHER?

One means one, if I have one child, I do not have twins, or two children.

If I have one dollar, I do not have two dollars. One means one.

Look at the following scriptures on the fact that it was well known that there was one God, God the Father.

Mar 12:29  Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘HEAR, O ISRAEL, THE LORD OUR GOD, THE LORD IS ONE.

Mar 12:32  So the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He.

Eph 4:5  one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

Eph 4:6  one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

1Co 8:6  yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.

1Co 8:7  However, there is not in everyone that knowledge; for some, with consciousness of the idol, until now eat it as a thing offered to an idol; and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.

Look at the following scripture, the Father makes it very plain that there is no one who is equal to Him. Christ is His Son and is equal with Him in that they both have eternal life, now. Christ has been given eternal life, by the Father, and He is His Son. But the Father is, and always has been, and always will be, the greatest in power and authority. There is no one in the entire universe which is above Him. We are talking about the Great Almighty Holy One of Israel. The Great Creator God. We are talking about God the Father.

Isa 40:25  “To whom then will you liken Me, Or to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One.

Isa 40:26  Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing.

All of the above scriptures state clearly that there is only one true God. The reader must surely see that clearly now.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A TRUE GOD?

The next question that the reader may ask is. Why is Christ not a true God as well?

As stated earlier, the Father alone has inhabited eternity. Christ is the Son. Christ was begotten by the Father before creation. Christ has not existed for eternity, He had a starting point. The Father gave Him life.

The following scriptures will clear up these statements for the reader.

Col 1:14  in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Col 1:15  He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature.

Read this above scripture again, Christ is the firstborn of every creature. Christ was begotten of the Father before creation. He was the firstborn, that means He was born before anything else was born, this is not referring to His human birth, this is referring to the time when He was originally born, He had a starting point.

Dan 3:25  “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

This scripture is in the Old Testament. This is not referring to when Christ walked the earth as the born Son of Mary, this is in the Old Testament times, and yet, Christ is referred to as the Son of God. That is because He is the born Son of God before creation.

Christ had a starting point, eternity has not. Look at the following:

Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Gen 1:1  In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Mar 10:6  But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE.’

Look at the above scriptures, at a point in time the heaven and the earth, did not exist. At a point in time called the beginning, they existed.

It is the same with Christ, at a point in time before the beginning Christ did not exist. In the beginning, before creation, God the Father Begat Him and He became the only begotten Son of the Father.

At a point in time before the beginning {of Mankind} male and female did not exist. But at the time of their creation they then did exist.

Joh 17:8  For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.

There is a key to understanding the truth about the Father and the Son.

Make no mistake, it is revealed knowledge. The Father must reveal this knowledge, we must have the correct attitude and be teachable, humble and be willing to accept new knowledge.

The key is found in John 8 v 19, we must know that Christ is the born Son of God before creation. Once we believe and understand that, we will go on to believe and learn about the Father, and that He is the one true God, and He alone has inhabited eternity.

Read this astounding scripture, over and over.

Joh 8:19  Then they said to Him, “Where is Your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.”

Note the following and see that once again it is stated that this knowledge of the Father is revealed knowledge.

Eph 1:17  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

Look at these scriptures, it is so simple, it is so easy if we will only believe what God is showing us, we must not be dull of hearing, we must be prepared to believe and trust God. Open our Bibles and read the truth that God is showing us now. This is new knowledge for this end time church of God.

Now the sceptic will say, how could this happen with Christ if there was only the Father and no woman? We say that it is clearly stated in Scripture. How it happened is not a concern for us, we are prepared to accept and believe what God tells us happened. If the sceptic, just cannot accept this, then he lacks faith and will one day simply have to ask God how it happened, we prefer to simply accept it as a child, in loving submission, faith and belief.

When we are born into the kingdom of God, when we are changed into spirit, there will not be any woman needed for that miraculous event, so we understand that no woman was needed for the birth of Christ, before creation.

Doubting Thomas did not believe either, and yet it happened just as Christ said it had. Will we be a doubting Thomas, or are we prepared to believe and accept what God shows us in these end times?

Joh 5:26  For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself,

This scripture proves that Christ has not existed for all eternity, for if He had, why would He require that the Father gave Him life in Himself.

It would also seem that many people are now tending to the idea that Christ and the Father are equal. This is simply not the case. The Father has always been above Christ in authority and power. When you understand that the Father begot the Son, and that the Father has always existed and that Christ has not. This truth of power and authority is not an issue. It is just common sense to see and understand this fact.

The Father has always existed, He has the great power and authority, He begat His Son Jesus Christ, who is under the power and authority of the Father, and Christ makes that plain in the scriptures. Christ stated time and time again that the Father was greater than He.

Joh 10:29  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

Joh 13:16  Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.

Joh 14:28  You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.

Mat 24:36  “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

The time of Christ’s return is known only by the Father, this again is another proof that the Father is in charge, and has the authority and power, even the day and hour of Christ’s return to earth was not known to Him, this is only known by the Father.

To be a true God, means that God has always existed. As we have proven God the Father has existed for eternity. He is the one true God. Christ was born in the beginning. He is not a true God. He is the Son of God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

HOW CAN WE BE IN GOD’S FAMILY IF WE DO NOT KNOW THEIR TRUE IDENTITY?

We have proven without a shadow of doubt that the Father is the one true God and that Christ is His begotten Son before creation. It is now up to you, the reader, to study, pray and show yourself approved to God, a good and faithful servant.

It is not always easy to accept new truth, because in a lot of cases, the person then has to admit that he was wrong in some of his beliefs. This is the hard part. Also some people may have difficulty accepting the ones God uses to bring this new truth to them.

Remember the story of David when he was a young lad. News came to Jesse that one of his sons would be anointed King, he picked every son who was tall, strong, good looking, and by the world’s standards, a good specimen. But God was looking at the heart. David was not even considered worthy by Jesse to be brought in from the field and be paraded in front of Samuel. Nonetheless, God had chosen David, due to his heart. Jesse was looking at the outward appearance. Are we doing that? God will choose whomever He wants. We should remember that.

1Sa 16:7  But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

When you believe the above new truth, you will notice when you study the scriptures, that over and over again you will see the new truth proved and stated. You will look at the scriptures with a different attitude and heart, God will continue to open your mind and the door to understanding the end time knowledge will be opened to you.

This is entirely up to you, if you are prepared to believe and accept new truth, pray and ask God to open your mind and to give you a submissive, trusting and obedient attitude. God will help you, but you must have the right attitude.
