THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION

We have shown from other articles; that a resurrected King David has built the Temple of God. God the Father has entered the Temple, and then gone back to heaven. It seems obvious that David has gone with God to Heaven. The people who have understanding of the Covenant are left in charge. This will be some members of the Laodicean era of God’s church.

The little horn comes and deceives some church members.

Dan 11:30  For ships from Cyprus shall come against him; therefore he shall be grieved, and return in rage against the holy covenant, and do damage. “So he shall return and show regard for those who forsake the holy covenant.

‘Daily sacrifice’ in the following verse is better translated; ‘continuity’ as the little horn thinks to change times and seasons.

Dan 11:31  And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation.

Dan 11:32  Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.

The following verse shows the deception, that the little horn uses. Truth is cast away, the Sabbaths, and laws of God are taken away: it is only the very elect who are not deceived.

Dan 7:25  He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time.

The little horn, together with deceived members of God’s church, sets up the abomination of desolation in the temple of God. The abomination is described in Ezekiel chapter eight.

Eze 8:3  He stretched out the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my hair; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven, and brought me in visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the north gate of the inner court, where the seat of the image of jealousy was, which provokes to jealousy.

Eze 8:5  Then He said to me, “Son of man, lift your eyes now toward the north.” So I lifted my eyes toward the north, and there, north of the altar gate, was this image of jealousy in the entrance.

Eze 8:6  Furthermore He said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel commits here, to make Me go far away from My sanctuary? Now turn again, you will see greater abominations.”

Eze 8:7  So He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, there was a hole in the wall.

Eze 8:8  Then He said to me, “Son of man, dig into the wall”; and when I dug into the wall, there was a door.

Eze 8:9  And He said to me, “Go in, and see the wicked abominations which they are doing there.”

Eze 8:10  So I went in and saw, and there every sort of creeping thing, abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed all around on the walls.

Eze 8:11  And there stood before them seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, and in their midst stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan. Each man had a censer in his hand, and a thick cloud of incense went up.

God had previously entered the temple, and then gone back to heaven. Some of the church members think God can’t see them: These people are deceived by the beast. They replace God’s laws and holy days with Easter keeping and idol worship.

Eze 8:12  Then He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the room of his idols? For they say, ‘The LORD does not see us, the LORD has forsaken the land.’ ”

Dan 11:30  For ships from Cyprus shall come against him; therefore he shall be grieved, and return in rage against the holy covenant, and do damage. “So he shall return and show regard for those who forsake the holy covenant.

Dan 11:31  And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation.

Some church women join in.

Eze 8:13  And He said to me, “Turn again, and you will see greater abominations that they are doing.”

Eze 8:14  So He brought me to the door of the north gate of the LORD’s house; and to my dismay, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz.

Sun worship in the temple of God.

Eze 8:15  Then He said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? Turn again, you will see greater abominations than these.”

Eze 8:16  So He brought me into the inner court of the LORD’s house; and there, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the temple of the LORD and their faces toward the east, and they were worshiping the sun toward the east.

It is because of these abominations that the God of heaven brings on desolation.

Eze 8:17  And He said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it a trivial thing to the house of Judah to commit the abominations which they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence; then they have returned to provoke Me to anger. Indeed they put the branch to their nose.

Eze 8:18  Therefore I also will act in fury. My eye will not spare nor will I have pity; and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them.”

There are faithful people, who have not been deceived by the beast. These people are marked for safety.

Eze 9:4  and the LORD said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it.”

The killing starts at the sanctuary, where the abominations are being carried out.

Eze 9:5  To the others He said in my hearing, “Go after him through the city and kill; do not let your eye spare, nor have any pity.

Eze 9:6  Utterly slay old and young men, maidens and little children and women; but do not come near anyone on whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the temple.

The abominations in God’s temple have brought on desolation to the people who have thought God cannot see them.

Eze 9:9  Then He said to me, “The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of bloodshed, and the city full of perversity; for they say, ‘The LORD has forsaken the land, and the LORD does not see!’

Eze 9:10  And as for Me also, My eye will neither spare, nor will I have pity, but I will recompense their deeds on their own head.”

The abomination of desolation brings on a terrible time for the house of Judah and Israel. The Israelites have been taken captive, then repented and been brought to Jerusalem. King David has built the temple of God and God the Father entered it, and then went back to heaven.

An evil person, known as the little horn, comes into the temple by flatteries and deceives church members into replacing God’s laws and Sabbaths with Easter keeping and idol worship. These people have known that God had entered the temple. They should have known better.

God destroys all those who aren’t upset by the goings on. This is the time that the repentant Israelites flee from Jerusalem.

Mat 24:15  “Therefore when you see the ‘ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand),

Mat 24:16  “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

God has ordered everyone to be killed who were deceived; including their children.

Eze 9:6  Utterly slay old and young men, maidens and little children and women; but do not come near anyone on whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the temple.

There will be a great deception in Judea by an evil person known as the little horn: He does miracles and understands witchcraft, and claims to be God. The very elect will not be deceived. This is a time of great tribulation in the earth.

The following verses give the time when God’s people have to flee. It is the worst time in human history, and even though God protects them; it is not a good time to be in. ‘winter’ can be translated ‘foul weather’.

Mat 24:20  And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.

Mat 24:21  For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Mat 24:22  And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
