SIN TO ETERNAL LIFE

The whole of the Exodus from the Passover to entering the Promised Land is a direct type of our spiritual calling. We have known that the physical Passover is a type of our spiritual calling, but we have not known that the full exodus is a parallel. There is a massive lot of new knowledge to be learned, this article is an overview. This knowledge does not come by accident, as the following scripture shows. It is revealed knowledge, and requires belief of the Bible, and a willingness to change, as new knowledge comes.

2Co 3:15  But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.

2Co 3:16  Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

Belief is required.

Joh 5:46  For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.

The knowledge of Jesus Christ begins at Moses.

Luk 24:27  And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

The Old Testament Exodus from Egypt to the Promised Land is a direct type of the New Testament Exodus from sin to Eternal Life.

Heb 3:5  And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward,

The knowledge of the truth has to be revealed, we will not get this knowledge by accident.

1Ti 2:4  who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2Ti 3:7  always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

We have to come to Christ to receive eternal life. He will show us from the scriptures, the way to eternal life.

Joh 5:39  You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.

Joh 5:40  But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

During our time in the Worldwide Church of God with Mr. Armstrong: we were taught from the scriptures, and believed what we were taught. This is what God revealed to Mr. Armstrong, and was truth for that era. The Bible is a living book. It has different truth for each era. The people in each era were responsible for what God revealed for that era. The Philadelphian era had to hold fast to what they had.

Rev 3:11  Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.

The overcomers in the Philadelphian era had to hold fast to what they had. This was truth for that era. The overcomers in that era will be pillars in the kingdom of God.

Eph 1:13  In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

There has been a massive push to discredit Mr. Armstrong, the eras of the church, and the knowledge that English speaking nations are Jacob {Ephraim and Manasseh}.

This knowledge is vital to the Laodicean era of God’s church.

The whole Exodus right up to entering the Promised Land and keeping the Wave Sheaf ceremony: is an exact type of our calling out of this world to when we receive eternal life in the form of the Holy Spirit of power or truth. I’ll go through the Old Testament Passover first.

The Passover lamb is killed on the 14th Nisan.

Exo 12:6  Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight.

The blood from the lamb was put on the door lintels, to protect the firstborn.

Exo 12:7  And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it.

Exo 12:13  Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

The lamb is eaten in the night, 15th Nisan.

Mar 14:1  After two days it was the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take Him by trickery and put Him to death.

Lev 23:6  And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the LORD; seven days you must eat unleavened bread.

The Israelites were protected when God the Father passed over with the destroyer.

Exo 12:23  For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.

The Israelites had previously spoiled the Egyptians, and were dressed ready to leave.

Exo 11:2  Speak now in the hearing of the people, and let every man ask from his neighbor and every woman from her neighbor, articles of silver and articles of gold.”

Exo 12:11  And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the LORD’s Passover.

God told them not to leave till the morning, the Egyptians thrust them out urgently.

Exo 12:22  And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning.

Exo 12:33  And the Egyptians urged the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste. For they said, “We shall all be dead.”

The Israelites left on eagles wings.

Exo 19:4  ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.

Isa 40:29  He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.

Isa 40:30  Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,

Isa 40:31  But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

They camped the first night at Succoth.

Exo 12:37  Then the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides children.

The second night they camped at Etham.

Exo 13:20  So they took their journey from Succoth and camped in Etham at the edge of the wilderness.

The third night they camped between Migdol and the sea.

Exo 14:2  “Speak to the children of Israel, that they turn and camp before Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, opposite Baal Zephon; you shall camp before it by the sea.

The way out of Egypt was not available, except for a miracle from God. God the Father performed that miracle; by parting the Red Sea all that night, and the Israelites crossed over to where the Promised Land was available, they were not at the Promised Land at this stage, but they were out of Egypt.

God the Father brought the Israelites out of Egypt; gave the Ten Commandments and then turned the Israelites over to Jesus Christ.

Exo 33:3  Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up in your midst, lest I consume you on the way, for you are a stiff-necked people.”

Exo 33:14  And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

1Co 10:4  and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

Passover fulfillment by Christ.

Christ was killed at 3pm on the preparation day. The preparation day is the Passover, the day before the Holy day.

Luk 23:44  Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

Luk 23:45  Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two.

Luk 23:46  And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT.’ ” Having said this, He breathed His last.

Mar 15:42  Now when evening had come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath,

Mar 15:43  Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, coming and taking courage, went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.

He was buried just prior to the start of the Holy day. On Wednesday before sundown, at the end of Passover day, or preparation day.

Luk 23:52  This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.

Luk 23:53  Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb that was hewn out of the rock, where no one had ever lain before.

Luk 23:54  That day was the Preparation, and the Sabbath drew near.

Christ was resurrected early Thursday morning, then He descended to Hell. He was raised after being three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. When Christ was raised on Sunday morning corresponds to the same time as the Red sea started parting.

Mat 12:40  For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Mat 28:6  He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

From the time of Christ’s raising, until the time He ascended to the Father; parallels the time of the red sea parting.

OUR SPIRITUAL CALLING

God the Father opens our mind, and calls us into His truth.

Joh 6:44  No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

We accept Christ’s death for our sins.

Rom 6:23  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1Co 5:7  Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.

Christ’s death paid the penalty of our sins.

1Co 15:22  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.

Just as a miracle from God was required to bring the Israelites out of Egypt, to where the Promised Land was available: so a miracle is required to bring us out of this world to where eternal life is available.

At our baptism; we receive that miracle.

Act 2:38  Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

At our baptism: we receive the down payment of God’s Spirit.

Eph 1:13  In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

Eph 1:14  who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

At this time we are out of this world but not yet at eternal life.

The Israelites in the physical wilderness

God made a covenant of physical blessings, with the Israelites, which they agreed to.

Lev 26:3  ‘If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them,

Lev 26:4  then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

Lev 26:5  Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

Lev 26:6  I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land.

Lev 26:7  You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you.

Lev 26:8  Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you.

Lev 26:9  ‘For I will look on you favorably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm My covenant with you.

Lev 26:10  You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new.

Lev 26:11  I will set My tabernacle among you, and My soul shall not abhor you.

Lev 26:12  I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people.

Lev 26:13  I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves; I have broken the bands of your yoke and made you walk upright.

The Israelites could not keep the covenant, so God the Father said He would not go in their midst to the Promised Land. He sent the Word [Jesus Christ] to go with them. God the Father was still in charge, and was still the leader.

God let the Israelites wander in the wilderness for forty years for a special reason.

Deu 8:2  And you shall remember that the LORD your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

God fed them on manna, which was food from heaven. When they cried out for meat; God gave them meat and they could not stand it.

Num 11:4  Now the mixed multitude who were among them yielded to intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said: “Who will give us meat to eat?

Num 11:18  Then you shall say to the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the hearing of the LORD, saying, “Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore the LORD will give you meat, and you shall eat.

Num 11:32  And the people stayed up all that day, all night, and all the next day, and gathered the quail (he who gathered least gathered ten homers); and they spread them out for themselves all around the camp.

Num 11:33  But while the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was aroused against the people, and the LORD struck the people with a very great plague.

During this time the Israelites grumbled and griped, they rebelled and wanted to go back to Egypt. Of all the Israelites that came out of Egypt, only Joshua and Caleb were allowed to go into the Promised Land.

When Moses sent twelve men to spy out the Promised Land: only Joshua and Caleb brought back a good report.

When they arrived at the bank of the Jordan; Moses died and Joshua was given the task of taking the Israelites into the Promised Land.

The spiritual Israelites in the spiritual wilderness.

After our baptism, we receive the down payment of God’s Spirit, then God watches us to see when He can give us the Spirit of life.

Eph 1:14  who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Act 11:15  And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.

God has to know we will obey Him before He gives us the Spirit of life.

Act 5:32  And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”

At our baptism, we are called out of this world, but not yet at eternal life. We are baptised into Christ.

1Co 3:23  And you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.

Rom 6:3  Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?

Just as the Israelites were fed manna, which is soft food: so at baptism, we receive the milk of the word.

1Co 3:1  And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.

1Co 3:2  I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;

Heb 5:12  For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.

Heb 5:13  For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.

The milk of the word must come before the meat.

1Pe 2:2  as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,

Eventually we will be offered the knowledge of the truth.

1Ti 2:4  who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

The Philadelphian era of God’s church was given knowledge, which was truth for that era.

Eph 1:13  In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

Each era of God’s church was given the truth for the particular era. The Philadelphian era had to hold fast to what they had.

Rev 3:11  Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.

At the death of Mr. Armstrong, the membership became scattered. The ministry let the members down badly. The dynasty that followed Mr. Armstrong, led a big percentage of the members back to the ways of this world. Those who would not go back, became prey for anyone who wanted a following. There was now a church of God for everyone to feel comfortable in. New knowledge became nonexistent, and the churches became stuck in a time warp, where offshoots of Mr. Armstrong’s teaching were adhered to, but new knowledge was not accepted. Mr. Armstrong became a dirty word, church eras were derided, and the knowledge of modern day Israel came under attack. It is out of these scattered people that Jesus Christ is building His church. The Laodicean church will reap where it has not sown.

Joh 4:37  For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’

Joh 4:38  I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”

The church membership, from the Philadelphian era; are now at the shores of the Jordan River. The knowledge of the truth is now available to anyone who believes the Bible and loves the truth of God. Jesus Christ will build His church from these people. Those who believe and love the Bible, and have the courage to follow that belief, will accept the knowledge of the truth, and be given God’s Spirit of life. This is when we have eternal life inherent.
