NEBUCHADNEZZAR AND LUCIFER

NEBUCHADNEZZAR

Nebuchadnezzar was king of ancient Babylon at the time of Daniel. The prophecy of Daniel 4 gives an insight to this powerful king.

Nebuchadnezzar dreams of a tree.

Dan 4:10  These were the visions of my head while on my bed: I was looking, and behold, A tree in the midst of the earth, And its height was great.

Daniel interprets the dream.

Dan 4:20  “The tree that you saw, which grew and became strong, whose height reached to the heavens and which could be seen by all the earth,

Notice that the king is likened to the kingdom.

Dan 4:22  it is you, O king, who have grown and become strong; for your greatness has grown and reaches to the heavens, and your dominion to the end of the earth.

The tree is destroyed and stopped from growing for seven times.

Dan 4:23  “And inasmuch as the king saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying, ‘Chop down the tree and destroy it, but leave its stump and roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron and bronze in the tender grass of the field; let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let him graze with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him’;

The prophecy came upon Nebuchadnezzar.

Dan 4:28  All this came upon King Nebuchadnezzar.

It is very significant that Nebuchadnezzar became like a beast.

Dan 4:32  And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. They shall make you eat grass like oxen; and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.”

Dan 4:33  That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen; his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claws.

Nebuchadnezzar is a beast: one of the sons of God who has turned bad. He is in the bottomless pit until the time of the end. He is seven times like a wild beast.

Using a year for a day principle: seven times which is 2520 days, converts to 2520 years. The Babylonian Empire was destroyed approx. 546 B.C. 2520 years from then comes to approx. 1974; which means the tree has been growing for 30 or so years at the time of writing. The dates are vague, and should not be taken as exact, but they show that the tree has been growing for quite a long time. When fully grown, the tree will once again become the Babylonian Empire.

Notice that the kingdom is restored to its former glory.

Dan 4:36  At the same time my reason returned to me, and for the glory of my kingdom, my honor and splendor returned to me. My counselors and nobles resorted to me, I was restored to my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added to me.

The book of Jeremiah is mainly about ancient Babylon, but chapter 50 is an end time prophecy as the next verse shows.

Jer 50:4  “In those days and in that time,” says the LORD, “The children of Israel shall come, They and the children of Judah together; With continual weeping they shall come, And seek the LORD their God.

At the time of the end: Nebuchadnezzar is once again king of Babylon. He is called a lion. Babylon is involved in the destruction of Israel.

Jer 50:17  “Israel is like scattered sheep; The lions have driven him away. First the king of Assyria devoured him; Now at last this Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”

Daniel sees a vision of four great beasts.

Dan 7:3  And four great beasts came up from the sea, each different from the other.

The fourth beast is dreadful and terrible.

Dan 7:7  “After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.

The Chaldeans are dreadful and terrible.

Hab 1:6  For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans, A bitter and hasty nation Which marches through the breadth of the earth, To possess dwelling places that are not theirs.

Hab 1:7  They are terrible and dreadful; Their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves.

The fourth kingdom which is the Chaldeans of Babylon, devours the whole earth.

Dan 7:23  “Thus he said: ‘The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, Which shall be different from all other kingdoms, And shall devour the whole earth, Trample it and break it in pieces.

The Chaldeans are Babylon, and Nebuchadnezzar is the end time king of Babylon.

Eze 12:13  I will also spread My net over him, and he shall be caught in My snare. I will bring him to Babylon, to the land of the Chaldeans; yet he shall not see it, though he shall die there.

Jer 50:17  “Israel is like scattered sheep; The lions have driven him away. First the king of Assyria devoured him; Now at last this Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”

Nebuchadnezzar was king of ancient Babylon. He is a beast who has been seven times [2520 years] in hell. He will come up out of the earth at the end time.

LUCIFER

Isaiah ch. 14 is about the mysterious Lucifer. The incredible knowledge of Lucifer is now made known.

The chapter begins at the end of Jacob’s trouble. God has saved Israel from captivity, and some other nations will accept God as well.

Isa 14:1  For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will still choose Israel, and settle them in their own land. The strangers will be joined with them, and they will cling to the house of Jacob.

Psa 14:7  Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD brings back the captivity of His people, Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.

God repays those who have oppressed Israel.

Isa 14:2  Then people will take them and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them for servants and maids in the land of the LORD; they will take them captive whose captives they were, and rule over their oppressors.

The hard bondage is over.

Isa 14:3  It shall come to pass in the day the LORD gives you rest from your sorrow, and from your fear and the hard bondage in which you were made to serve,

The king of Babylon is finished. Notice that Babylon is the Golden city.

Isa 14:4  that you will take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say: “How the oppressor has ceased, The golden city ceased!

God has kept His word.

Isa 14:5  The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, The scepter of the rulers;

The king of Babylon is finished.

Isa 14:6  He who struck the people in wrath with a continual stroke, He who ruled the nations in anger, Is persecuted and no one hinders.

Babylon is the final evil kingdom.

Isa 14:7  The whole earth is at rest and quiet; They break forth into singing.

The sons of God, which are likened to trees, are happy. ‘Feller’ can be translated ‘destroyer’

Isa 14:8  Indeed the cypress trees rejoice over you, And the cedars of Lebanon, Saying, ‘Since you were cut down, No woodsman has come up against us.’

The residents of hell are all stirred up to meet the king of Babylon. Note that the kings of the nations are down there. The sons of God, and their sons, are base men.

Isa 14:9  “Hell from beneath is excited about you, To meet you at your coming; It stirs up the dead for you, All the chief ones of the earth; It has raised up from their thrones All the kings of the nations.

Dan 4:17  ‘This decision is by the decree of the watchers, And the sentence by the word of the holy ones, In order that the living may know That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, Gives it to whomever He will, And sets over it the lowest of men.’

It is obvious that the king of Babylon was more senior than the residents of the bottomless pit.

Isa 14:10  They all shall speak and say to you: ‘Have you also become as weak as we? Have you become like us?

The king of Babylon was pompous and surrounded with music. He is now covered with worms that are not killed in hell fire.

Isa 14:11  Your pomp is brought down to Sheol, And the sound of your stringed instruments; The maggot is spread under you, And worms cover you.’

Mar 9:47  And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire

Mar 9:48  where ‘THEIR WORM DOES NOT DIE AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED.’

The king of Babylon is Lucifer, who is the son of Jesus Christ. ‘Lucifer’ means ‘Morning Star’ Jesus Christ is a Morning Star, and Lucifer is the son of the morning. Lucifer weakened [overthrew] the nations.

Isa 14:12  “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!

Lucifer planned to take over God’s throne.

Isa 14:13  For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north;

Isa 14:14  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’

The bottomless pit is Lucifer’s fate.

Isa 14:15  Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit.

The residents of hell look and wonder.

Isa 14:16  “Those who see you will gaze at you, And consider you, saying: ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms,

Lucifer: who is the king of Babylon, who is Nebuchadnezzar; had almost completely destroyed the earth.

Isa 14:17  Who made the world as a wilderness And destroyed its cities, Who did not open the house of his prisoners?’

Isa 14:18  “All the kings of the nations, All of them, sleep in glory, Everyone in his own house;

Isa 14:19  But you are cast out of your grave Like an abominable branch, Like the garment of those who are slain, Thrust through with a sword, Who go down to the stones of the pit, Like a corpse trodden underfoot.

Isa 14:20  You will not be joined with them in burial, Because you have destroyed your land And slain your people. The brood of evildoers shall never be named.

Isa 14:21  Prepare slaughter for his children Because of the iniquity of their fathers, Lest they rise up and possess the land, And fill the face of the world with cities.”

Isa 14:22  “For I will rise up against them,” says the LORD of hosts, “And cut off from Babylon the name and remnant, And offspring and posterity,” says the LORD.

Isa 14:23  “I will also make it a possession for the porcupine, And marshes of muddy water; I will sweep it with the broom of destruction,” says the LORD of hosts.

Isa 14:24  The LORD of hosts has sworn, saying, “Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, And as I have purposed, so it shall stand:
