GOD'S CALENDAR

There has been considerable debate regarding the accuracy of the calendar to correctly know the Holy Days. It is of vital importance to keep the correct days, so the Bible makes it simple to know them.

The sun and moon were created for seasons.

Gen 1:14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;

Gen 1:15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.

Gen 1:16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.

Gen 1:17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth,

Psa 104:19 He appointed the moon for seasons; The sun knows its going down.

The new moon starts the month.

Psa 81:3 Blow the trumpet at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our solemn feast day.

Lev 23:24 “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.

The Feast of Unleavened Bread is on the 15th which is usually, but not always, a full moon. The second Holy day in Unleavened Bread is the last day of Unleavened Bread. The day of Pentecost is calculated from the Wavesheaf.

Lev 23:6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the LORD; seven days you must eat unleavened bread.

The Feast of Trumpets is on the first day of the seventh month, which is a new moon. It is easy to check the time of trumpets, and then check the rest of the Holy Days: simply by counting to the dates given in the Bible. The day of Atonement is the tenth day of the seventh month. The first Holy Day of the Feast of Tabernacles is the 15th, day of the seventh month which is usually, but not always, a full moon.

The holy days align with the harvests.

Exo 12:2 “This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.

Exo 9:31 Now the flax and the barley were struck, for the barley was in the head and the flax was in bud.

Exo 24:16 Now the glory of the LORD rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

Passover is in the month Abib, which is the first of God’s months, and coincides with the early harvest then the Feast of Tabernacles, which completes the year’s harvest, is in the seventh month.

Exo 23:14 “Three times you shall keep a feast to Me in the year:

Exo 23:15 You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread (you shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt; none shall appear before Me empty);

Exo 23:16 and the Feast of Harvest, the firstfruits of your labors which you have sown in the field; and the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labors from the field.

GOD’S HOLY DAYS

To calculate when God’s holy days fall, we need to know the exact date and time of the new moon. This can be found very easily on a government site which gives the date and time of the new moon. Once we know when the new moon falls it becomes very easy to calculate the date for God’s Holy days.

We must be careful to note the time of the new moon. Remember that the world changes the day at midnight. God changes the day at sunset.

Therefore if the new moon is let’s say on a Wednesday at 18.00. Sunset is at 17.50, that means that the new moon is on the Thursday not the Wednesday. The world says it is Wednesday, but because the new moon has come after the setting of the sun, it is on the next day, which in our example, is Thursday. This is a little tricky, but if we are diligent to notice sunset times in relation to the new moon times, we will be able to determine the correct time for the new moon.

The first of the month of God’s calendar is a new moon. Once we determine when the new moon falls we calculate from there the dates for Passover and Unleavened Bread.

Notice another example, in the year 2014 the new moon fell on the 31st March, so that is the 1st of the month. Passover is the 14th of the month therefore the correct day for the Passover in 2014 was the 13th April.

The following are God’s Holy Days:

Passover 14th Nisan or Abib this is not a holy day, but a preparation day for the following Holy Day.

Jesus died on this day.

1st Day of Unleavened Bread 15th Abib or Nisan.

Last Day of Unleavened Bread, this is the 7th day of the feast is the 21st of Abib or Nisan.

Wavesheaf falls on the first Sunday during Unleavened Bread.

Pentecost is 50 days from the Wavesheaf. This day is to be counted as it is a different date each year. The date of Pentecost depends on which date the Wavesheaf falls on, and therefore is counted. Pentecost is always on a Sunday.

Trumpets is on the new moon it is on the 1st of the seventh month of God’s calendar.

Atonement is the 10th of the seventh month of God’s calendar.

The first day of the Feast of Tabernacles is the 15th of the seventh month of God’s calendar.

The Last Great Day is the day after the 7 days of the Feast. Once the 7 days of the Feast are over that night will be a Holy Day for the Last Great Day which is the 22nd of the seventh month.
