BORN OF THE SPIRIT
Many people think that
they are born again in this life. They see their
change from going from a non-believer to a believer
and attending a church as being born again. The
scriptures say a different story and show that to be
born again will happen when we are resurrected to a
spirit being. Once you are spirit. Notice that the
following verse states when we are born of God we do
not sin. This must be a spiritual state as not one
person on earth could say that they do not sin in the
physical state. This verse alone proves that we will
be changed to a spirit being when we are born of God. 1Jn 3:9 Whoever
has been born of God does not sin, for His seed
remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has
been born of God. Once we are spirit Joh 3:3 Jesus
answered and said to him, “Most
assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again,
he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Joh 3:4 Nicodemus
said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old?
Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb
and be born?” Joh 3:5 Jesus
answered, “Most assuredly,
I say to you, unless one is born of water and the
Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh
is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is
spirit. Joh 3:7 Do not marvel that I said to
you, ‘You must be born again.’ 1Pe 1:23 having
been born again, not of corruptible seed but
incorruptible, through the word of God which lives
and abides forever, Joh 1:10 He was in
the world, and the world was made through Him, and
the world did not know Him. Joh 1:11 He came to
His own, and His own did not receive Him. Joh 1:12 But as
many as received Him, to them He gave the right to
become children of God, to those who believe in His
name: In the following verses
the word born should be translated begotten. There is
a difference between born and begotten we need to know
which word is to be used in some verses. When we are
begotten of the spirit we are still physical and have
God’s Spirit in us, we can then be led by the spirit.
We are still living our physical lives but because we
have God’s Spirit in us, we are striving to be like
God in our everyday lives. Joh 1:13 who were
born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,
nor of the will of man, but of God. Begotten. 1Jn 2:29 If you
know that He is righteous, you know that everyone
who practices righteousness is born of Him. 1Jn 4:7 Beloved,
let us love one another, for love is of God; and
everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The following verse has
the two words born in it. The first is translated as
born, but the second should be translated as begotten.
1Jn 5:18 We know
that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who
has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked
one does not touch him. 1Co 15:40 There are
also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but
the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of
the terrestrial is another. 1Co 15:41 There is
one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and
another glory of the stars; for one star differs
from another star in glory. 1Co 15:42 So also is
the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in
corruption, it is raised in incorruption. 1Co 15:43 It is sown
in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in
weakness, it is raised in power. 1Co 15:44 It is sown
a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There
is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 1Co 15:45 And so it
is written, “THE FIRST MAN ADAM BECAME A LIVING
BEING.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 1Co 15:46 However,
the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and
afterward the spiritual. 1Co 15:47 The first
man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man
is the Lord from heaven. 1Co 15:48 As was the
man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust;
and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who
are heavenly. 1Co 15:49 And as we
have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall
also bear the image of the heavenly Man. 1Co 15:50 Now this I
say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit
the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit
incorruption. 1Co 15:51 Behold, I
tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we
shall all be changed— 1Co 15:52 in a
moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead
will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be
changed. 1Co 15:53 For this
corruptible must put on incorruption, and this
mortal must put on immortality. 1Co 15:54 So when
this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this
mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought
to pass the saying that is written: “DEATH IS
SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY.” 1Co 15:55 “O DEATH,
WHERE IS YOUR STING? O HADES, WHERE IS YOUR
VICTORY?” 1Co 15:56 The sting
of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 1Co 15:57 But thanks
be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord
Jesus Christ. 1Co 15:58 Therefore,
my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your
labor is not in vain in the Lord. To be born of the
spirit means you will be a spirit being. You will be
resurrected, you will not be flesh but spirit because
you have been born of the spirit. When we are physical we
are begotten of the spirit. There are two phases of
the Spirit given, the first is the earnest of the
Spirit, which enables us to understand a great deal of
God’s word. Then later, when God decides we are ready,
we are given the Spirit of truth or power. This is
eternal life inherent, with this second phase of the
Spirit we can understand the words of eternal life.
This phase of the Spirit enables us to understand the
meat of the word, but to whom much is given much is
expected. We must be very diligent to learn grown and
overcome once we have God’s holy Spirit of power or
truth. When we are born of the
spirit we will be a spirit being in God’s kingdom,
serving along with other resurrected saints in God’s
family. This should be the goal of all called
Christians. |
